Exclusive Decra Distributor for Tanzania, Nabaki Afrika Ltd, has won the award of “Best Exhibitor” at the recent Engineers Exhibition in Dar es Salaam.
The exhibition included a presentation by the Nabaki Decra team to Tanzania’s top professional engineers, where they were advised to “look up and see the Decra difference”, a reference to Nabaki’s popular advertising campaign to encourage customers to look at the roofs around Dar es Salaam and see how different Decra roofs look.
If you missed out on this exhibition, you’ll be able to catch up with the Nabaki Decra team at the Home Expo on the 14th and 15th of October.
Decra Roofing System’s program of training installers, organised and run by our exclusive Distribution Partner in Kenya – Space & Style Ltd of Mombasa Road, saw another 130 roof installers trained in the industrial town of Thika last week. Installers were given an understanding of the company and its history, the features which make Decra Roof Tiles different, and the benefits of using the worlds original stone coated roofing tile before engaging in a practical demonstration of tile installation. The interactive session had installers comparing experiences and sharing valuable tips for a better installation finish.
Space and Style Ltd, who are running the national training program in association with Kenya’s NCA, provided each installer with uniform and hard hat – testament to Decra’s continued drive to increase safety on Africa’s building sites.
Decra was featured in a cocktail reception in Monrovia, Liberia in May where a presentation at the Royal Grand Hotel was made by Joe Collins, Africa Regional Manager to an audience of over 70 guests who represented members of the architectural, engineering and construction community. Since the launch of Decra in Liberia in 2012, it has quickly gained prominence as the preferred premium product for residential and light commercial construction, including refurbishment of buildings at the Presidential Palace in Liberia.
The Decra ‘Fundi Maalum’ roadshow moved onto the town of Nakuru last week for the second stage of the national training program for Decra installers. Marketing Manager Simon Pogson was on hand with Space and Style MD Winnie Ngumi and her expert team to guide around 150 installers through the Decra product range and installation process. Meanwhile, shoppers to the West Mall flocked to the Space & Style pop-up store to discover how their home would benefit from a Decra roof. Said one shopper “I’ve seen Decra advertised on TV, but now I have seen the quality of Decra myself, I would not use anything else!” Both events were followed in the evening by a cocktail for architects and contractors at the Bontana Hotel.
Regional Manager Joe Collins joined the team at Space and Style Ltd in Kenya last week for the first in a series of national training programs for Decra installers. The Decra ‘Fundi Maalum’ (professional) program has been instigated to improve the skills and awareness of installers nationally. The training road show will take place in 9 towns across Kenya over the coming months with a view to training over 1500 roof installers.
