As a graduate of Portsmouth University BA(Hons) Business Studies program, Joe joined Unilever in 1990, in their retail foods division and worked as Trade Marketing Manager and National Account Sales Manager for 5 years. He moved to the Middle East in 1995 to open a branch office for a UK supplier to the motor industry and 2 years later joined AHI Roofing Ltd as their Middle East Manager based in Dubai.
In 2000, he returned to the UK with an ambition to expand AHI's operations into Africa. Capitalising on his skills and knowledge he identified untapped opportunities within Africa, and began to build a distribution network which is now unrivalled within the industry.
After graduating from Bournemouth University in 2000 with a BA (Hons) Degree in Marketing and a City & Guilds Licentiateship Award, Simon quickly established himself as a leading Product Marketer in the highly competitive UK retail scene. Working with some of the worlds largest international retail giants, he successfully managed fast moving product groups for Dixons Stores Group, PowerHouse Retail and B&Q, and established e-commerce businesses for Currys and Homeform Group.
Seeing the potential in the lucrative real estate market, he moved into property development and successfully established a highly profitable business, buying, renovating and selling houses.
In 2009, Simon brought his knowledge of the construction industry to AHI Africa, and has since helped develop and establish markets throughout Africa for new and existing product ranges.
Jackie Swannell joined AHI Africa in Oct 2010. Jackie came with an extensive background managing operations and logistics across several industries both in the UK and internationally.
At AHI, Jackie is the key operations interface between our customers and our manufacturing plants. Jackie has designed and manages order and logistics management processes which ensure efficient supply of goods in accordance with customers and project needs.
IT and System Coordinator
In 2012 Zeeshan achieved his Master of Science in Computer Science from University of Bedfordshire, UK. He joined AHI Africa in 2011 and has hands on experience of different technologies, including web and software development, graphic design and networking.
Since becoming a member of the AHI Africa team he has also been heavily involved with adobe products, web development, drupla and wordpress content management systems, CRM, and visual marketing. In 2012 he successfully oversaw a complete overhaul of our IT systems.
Financial Administrator + Personal Assistant
Tracey Hall joined AHI in 2014 as Personal Assistant. Tracey comes with extensive secretarial and administration experience in a number of large international industrial companies. Tracey’s background is in intellectual property formalities and more recently she has gained experience in social media. She currently liaises with our Customers and Suppliers, dealing with orders and financial aspect of the business. In addition she assists with general administration and operations.
Jack is a City and Guilds qualified craftsman, with 16yrs experience in all levels of the UK construction industry.
Trained in traditional styles and techniques, Jack takes pride in achieving high standards of workmanship and helping others to achieve the same. He enjoys the challenge of developing product installation to fit the style and working constraints of African markets. He is travelling across Africa to provide technical training and assistance to our clients
He is a keen rugby player and has spent time in Rwanda coaching rugby in schools. He also helped to train the Rwandan national rugby team.
Sally Cain joined African Supplies in April 2014. Sally has extensive experience gained through a variety of roles in several multinational companies.
As well as assisting with administration and operations, Sally currently liaises with customers and suppliers to ensure the efficient supply of goods to meet our customer needs.
